Artist Exchange: Soup and Space

With art and music spaces shutting shop, queer spaces turning into flats and a rise in far-right politics, how do we keep our spaces safe and as vibrant as ever?

Looking at personal space, taking up space, physical space, and creating space, we explore the word, what it means and the realities of it.

We are looking to connect with producers and creators of live art/theatre/anything performance based, to talk about our practice and be creative around the theme together.

Come and meet fellow Yorkshire-based artists, share your practice, and explore the theme of 'space' in this practical workshop, facilitated by brand-new exciting York based company SOURPUSS!

We will provide soup and bread for lunch, the theatre space is at Spark:York so there are plenty of other eating options available.

This session will be lead by Vicky Moran and assisted by Megan Hamber, two thirds of Sourpuss. Vicky is a practitioner and director who has worked extensively with Cardboard Citizens and Theatre 503 as well as Soho theatre. Meg works as a producer for Yorkshire dance, is a set designer and performance maker, newly based in York.

Open to all Yorkshire based artistic types, all experience levels welcome.

Tickets by application but generally first come first served, application gives us an idea of who will be there but also access and dietry needs and allows us to prioritise local and/or LGBTQ+ artists.

The space is on the first floor, there is a lift, there is step free access. There are accessible toilets and gender neutral toilets on the ground floor.

Free, by application only. Apply here:
