Interactive Audiences with Black Mirror: Bandersnatch

  • The Grand, York Station Rise York, England United Kingdom (map)

Presented by the York Unesco City of Media Arts in collaboration with York Mediale.

With very little warning, towards the end of last year, Netflix dropped a new episode of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Set in 1984, this smash hit interactive film is about a young programmer who begins to question reality as he adapts a dark fantasy novel into a video game. Throughout the film, the audience chose the path of the protagonist using their remote controls, resulting in a mind-bending tale with multiple endings.

Join us for an evening with Russell McLean, Producer of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch as he explains the challenges of producing Netflix’s first adult interactive film, from the writing through to editing and coding the story.

Sharon Reid, co-owner of the world’s leading performance capture studio The Imaginarium Studios, will join Russell on stage to talk about the future of immersive and interactive storytelling.

Tickets: £10 +BF

Hosted by Pilot Theatre’s own Lucy Hammond, this promises to be a fascinating evening, but act fast - limited availability!

Supported by Science City York and XR Stories.

Sponsored by The Grand, York.
