  • STUN - Sustained Theatre Up north Z-arts Centre, 335 Stretford Rd Manchester, M15 5ZA United Kingdom (map)

A risky night out or a good night in? Two explorations of inner conflict, outer division, and the politics of oppression from Mark Croasdale + Avital Raz.

Presented by Word of Warning, Contact + STUN - Sustained Theatre Up North on Thu 16 + Fri 17 May at 7.30pm each night.

Tickets: available to reserve via Contact, Pay What You Decide (cash only) in person on the evening.

A double bill of new works in development from artists at the start of their journeys:

STAYING IN by Mark Croasdale
“Young, gay, fabulous — it’s all about being out and going out… isn’t it?”
Fuelled by internalised homophobia and beset by social anxiety, Mark agonises over the ‘correct’ way to be a ‘good gay’, to be himself, and to connect with others.
All he wants to do is invite you out… for a good night in.

MY JERUSALEM by Avital Raz
A solo performance derived from a song.
A politically charged tale of a drunken one night stand, infused with stories of growing up in the turmoil of 80s Israel.
A nuanced exploration of the politics of division, from internal checkpoints and separation walls to gender norms.
Can we go beyond the blame game to really see each other?

Age advisory: 18+ The double bill will last up to a maximum of 2 hours, including an interval (running order tbc).
