  SLAP FESTIVAL

20th - 23rd February 2019

About

Web_Images_Smaller.jpg

SLAP is York’s pay-what-you-can contemporary performance festival.

Flaunting a bold assortment of dance, theatre, live art and cabaret performances from a cohort of distinguished local, national and international artists. SLAP performances will occur in 5 locations across the city and will journey through themes of queerness, zombies, millennials and their predecessors, masculinity, connection and more.

We believe income should not be a barrier to accessing performance and therefore SLAP are making all events as part of the festival either free or pay-what-you-can.

Access performances:

Fat Girl Singing - BSL interpretation
SOFTCORE BOUNDARIES - Captioned

Ballad of Isosceles - 4:00pm & 4:30pm Captioned
Theseus Beefcake - BSL interpretation

SLAP is supported using public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England with further support from York Theatre Royal, York St John University and York Dance Space.

 Tickets

We are committed to making all of our events as accessible and affordable as possible.  We have decided that having a range of ticket prices is the best way to allow everyone to be able to purchase a ticket within their financial reach whilst also ensuring that we are able to continue running events.  We ask everyone to be honest about their financial situation. If you purchase a ticket at the lowest price point when you could afford a higher ticket price, it makes it harder for SLAP to provide financial flexibility to those who most need it.

Our ticket brackets are below, choose the amount you would like to pay:
£3
£6

£9
£12
We will never ask you to prove your financial situation just pick the amount that feels best for you.  If you would like to know more about any of the events please send us an email.

All tickets can be bought online, on the phone or in person at the York Theatre Royal Box Office. You will be able to buy tickets on the night but we do advise you to book!
